Why read the blog article when you can watch it on YouTube!
In October 2019, I started uduforu, LLC, self-published my hip replacement recovery book, and made a YouTube channel for its videos. I began 2020 by adding Down Town Haiku to my YouTube channel but used most of the year to learn skills. In 2021 I submitted short stories to contests for the first time, started a blog, and added Haiku by Martin E. Dodge and the uduforu vlog to the YouTube channel. Now in October 2022, I am excited to announce uduforu Designs!
Uduforu Designs are inspired by nature, activities I enjoy, and my sense of humor. The designs are printed on t-shirts, long-sleeve tees, hoodies, and novelties. The apparel is quality cotton with the least possible synthetic blend. I use a print-on-demand service to make orders and to reduce waste. So your order really is made just for you!
Drawing is a hobby I have dabbled in for most of my life, but I am not an efficient doodler. Pumpkin carving is where my artistic skills first came to fruition at a fancy country inn where I used to work. I carved 8 to 10 pumpkins to decorate the inn’s front steps and dining rooms. The pumpkins displayed images of the inn’s main building, a horseman throwing a jack-o-lantern head, and a skeleton fish bowl. Each pumpkin took up to three hours to carve. And I was featured in The Daily Progress, a local newspaper, on Tuesday, October 25, 1994!

One year, pumpkins had a lousy season, and the jack-o-lanterns collapsed within 3 days. I replaced them with lanterns made from sheets of aluminum flashing. I cut the designs out of the aluminum sheets using a hammer and chisel. It was a very loud process. The finished pieces were painted and attached to wooden bases. The inn displayed the lanterns every October, even after I moved on. Though, I kept one for myself – Skeltofish!
For now, I will stick to clothing and some novelty items and experiment with various art styles. Join our email list at uduforu.com to get announcements for new uduforu Designs and updates!
